On behalf of the 2014 Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) Grantees' Conference (formerly known as the International Symposium on Minority Health and Health Disparities) we are pleased to invite scientists engaged in health disparities research; healthcare and public health professionals; public policy professionals; community-based and faith-based organizations to attend and participate in the Conference to convene December 1–3, 2014 in National Harbor, Maryland. Pre-Conference Training workshops will take place December 1, 2014.
In keeping with the Conference theme, “Transdisciplinary Collaborations: Evolving Dimensions of US and Global Health Equity,” the scientific program will highlight the excellence and innovation in basic, translational, and clinical research from the programs supported by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), and focus on early career investigators through training and professional development workshops, mentoring, and meet the expert sessions. The Conference has been designed to offer opportunities for sharing research information in areas related to cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity, cancer, women's health, mental health, infectious disease, stroke, and behavioral and community health with special emphasis on minority health and health disparities. We invite individuals who are engaged in clinical, translational, basic science, education, and policy research in minority health and health disparities to join us.
This special event is funded by Grant Number 8U13 MD007596 to Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
